The United Arab Emirates has enhanced its visa-on-arrival program, effective February 13, 2025. This initiative simplifies entry processes for Indian nationals with valid travel documents from designated countries.

Eligibility Criteria

Indian passport holders with valid visas, residence permits, or Green Cards from specified nations are eligible for a visa upon arrival at all UAE entry points. The list of eligible countries now includes Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, alongside the previously-eligible USA, European Union, and UK.

Visa Requirements and Fees

To apply, ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in the UAE. The fee structure is:

  • 14-day Stay: Dh100, extendable by another 14 days for an additional Dh250.
  • 60-day Visa: Available for Dh250.

Strategic Significance and Opportunities

The initiative, highlighted by Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, is part of a strategic partnership between the UAE and India. It aims to facilitate opportunities in life, residency, and employment for Indian nationals.

This move not only eases travel but also supports economic growth by attracting international talent and entrepreneurs. Additionally, holders of diplomatic and official Indian passports enjoy visa exemption for up to 90 days within the UAE.

Importance of This Initiative

The policy expansion strengthens ties between the UAE and India, offering significant opportunities for Indian nationals and enhancing mutual economic interests.
