Spanish Ambassador to Egypt Alvaro Iranzo has lauded the efforts of the National Council for Women (NCW) to support and empower women, especially in the economic field. He emphasized the importance of raising awareness among men about their role in supporting women. This came during a meeting between Iranzo and his accompanying delegation and Head of NCW Aml Ammar to discuss means to boost joint cooperation in empowering women.

Iranzo reiterated the significance of future cooperation between both sides in eradicating violence against women, increasing participation in tourism, and empowering them socially and economically. In response, Ammar reviewed the efforts made in Egypt to support and empower women, highlighting the launch of the national strategy for empowering Egyptian women 2030. Amarra also highlighted the state's efforts to spread financial inclusion among women through digital saving application 'Tahweesha,' which aims at empowering them economically.

She commended the fruitful cooperation with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) to implement a project supporting a safe working environment for women in Egypt's tourism sector. The meeting aimed to strengthen ties between both countries and promote joint efforts in empowering women.
