Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced significant enhancements aimed at supporting the delivery sector. The initiative includes the establishment of rest areas for delivery riders, providing much-needed amenities to ensure their comfort and efficiency while on duty. These strategically placed rest areas are equipped with air-conditioned seating for up to ten riders each and designated parking spaces for motorcycles, ensuring convenience in high-demand locations such as Hessa Street, Barsha Heights, and Al Barsha.

In addition to the new rest areas, the RTA has launched an excellence award program designed to elevate service standards within the delivery sector. First introduced in 2022, this program encourages competition among delivery companies, promoting adherence to road safety standards, traffic regulations compliance, and enhanced customer service quality. The awards recognize achievements across various categories including Companies, Riders, and Partners, with plans for new categories like Best Partner and an expanded Outstanding Rider category set for the current year.

These initiatives reflect RTA's commitment to fostering a supportive environment for delivery riders while ensuring high standards of service within Dubai’s bustling delivery sector.
