Qatar Museums has unveiled an exciting spring 2025 exhibitions programme, headlined by the third edition of the Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar—a biennial offering exhibitions, awards, presentations, and workshops that celebrate photographers from Qatar and across the West Asia and North Africa (WANA) region. The festival’s theme this year explores the concept of belonging through six exhibitions spread across museums, galleries, and outdoor venues in Doha.

At the heart of Tasweer is its anchor exhibition, To Look at the Sea is to Become What One Is, curated by Tasweer’s Artistic Director, Meriem Berrada, and hosted at the Fire Station: Artist in Residence.

Another major highlight is Latinoamericano | Modern and Contemporary Art from the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (Malba) and Eduardo F. Costantini Collections, on display at the National Museum of Qatar. Marking the first major showcase of Latin American art in the WANA region, the exhibition spotlights key artists dating from 1900 to the present day.

Further enriching the season’s offerings at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art are two compelling exhibitions:

  • Qatar: Close to my Soul, Art from the Collection of Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani, a journey through diverse works by multiple generations of Qatari artists, and
  • Wafa al-Hamad: Sites of Imagination, the first solo museum exhibition of the late pioneering artist, featuring works drawn from Mathaf’s Permanent Collection.

Together, these exhibitions underscore Qatar Museums’ dedication to cultural dialogue, showcasing a vibrant mosaic of perspectives and traditions—reflecting the nation’s ever-growing role as a global arts hub.
