Mayoor School, a CBSE institution in Abu Dhabi, has introduced an inclusive therapy room aimed at supporting students with special needs. This initiative focuses on developing critical executive function skills and eases the logistical burden on parents by providing therapies during school hours.

The school established an inclusion department in 2014, becoming a pioneer among CBSE schools in Abu Dhabi. The commitment to inclusive education has been consistent over time, with ongoing training for educators and expansion of the team to cater to diverse student needs.

The therapy room is equipped with various tools and materials designed to foster motor skills development, sensory skill enhancement, behavioral improvement, emotional support, and communication skill advancement.

Students, including those with autism and Down syndrome among others, will benefit from a supportive environment that enhances their learning capabilities. Parents can save time and reduce stress as therapy sessions are now integrated into school schedules, eliminating the need for external appointments.

The inclusion team members include Sakina Godhrawala, Khushnavaz Bhathena, and Bhavisha Dedhia. Dr. Nidhi Mahajan serves as a parent ambassador, connecting with parents to emphasize the importance of therapies, drawing from personal experience with her son who benefits greatly from these services.

The establishment of the therapy room at Mayoor School underscores the institution's dedication to providing a nurturing environment that recognizes and supports the individual needs of every student. This initiative facilitates skill development for students and simplifies logistical challenges faced by families, ensuring all students can thrive in their educational journey.
