Kuwait's New Palace of Justice Opens with Royal Patronage

Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness (HH) the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in the distinguished presence of HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait proudly inaugurated its new Palace of Justice building. The event unfolded on a historic day in Kuwait City, marking a momentous occasion that aligns with the country's 64th National Day celebrations and the 34th Liberation Day commemorations.

HH the Crown Prince was warmly welcomed by Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, President of the Court of Cassation Counselor Dr. Adel Majed Bouresli, Minister of Justice Nasser Yousef Al-Sumait, along with esteemed members of the Supreme Judicial Council. In a ceremonial gesture that underscored the significance of this new chapter in Kuwait's judicial history, HH the Crown Prince unveiled the memorial plaque commemorating the event.

The ceremony was graced by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, along with other senior state officials. It commenced with an emotional rendition of the national anthem and a heartfelt recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a reverent tone for the proceedings that followed.

Dr. Bouresli expressed deep gratitude towards HH the Amir for his unwavering patronage and to HH the Crown Prince for marking this significant occasion with his presence. He extolled the virtues of the new Palace of Justice, describing it as a beacon of fairness and justice equipped with modern amenities, including state-of-the-art courtrooms, comfortable deliberation rooms, and advanced technological tools designed to enhance judicial efficiency. Bouresli highlighted how the building represents Kuwait's commitment to digital transformation within the judiciary, promising quicker litigation processes without compromising legal integrity.

In his address, Minister of Justice Nasser Yousef Al-Sumait reiterated the political leadership's dedication to justice as a cornerstone of Kuwaiti governance. He outlined strategic initiatives aimed at revising legislation, simplifying litigation procedures, accelerating case resolution times, expanding digital judicial services, and enhancing oversight and transparency. These efforts underscore the unwavering commitment to maintaining judiciary independence and integrity.

The event also featured a screening of 'The Origins of the Kuwaiti Judiciary,' offering attendees a profound look into the history and evolution of justice in Kuwait. Additionally, a commemorative gift was presented to HH the Amir's representative, symbolizing the deep respect and appreciation for his support and patronage.
