Two young architecture students from Kuwait University have been selected to design memorials in Tunis and Kerkouane as part of a cultural collaboration between Kuwait and Tunisia. Funded by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), this project is a testament to the shared heritage of both nations.

The partnership involves multiple stakeholders including the Ministry of Economy and Planning in Tunisia, the Municipality of Tunis, and the Municipality of Kerkouane. The initiative aims to enhance cultural understanding through architecture. Jana Al-Abduljader from Kuwait University is set to design a monument inspired by sailboats and the national anthems of both countries in Tunis. Meanwhile, Noura Al-Babtain will create a bus station that integrates historical elements from Kerkouane's past.

Both students expressed pride and gratitude for this opportunity. Field surveys have commenced as they move forward with their designs. This collaboration not only celebrates the cultural ties between Kuwait and Tunisia but also showcases the talents of young architects.
