Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly of Egypt has outlined a strategic plan focusing on the reconstruction and recovery of Gaza. This initiative is developed in collaboration with Egyptian universities and consulting firms, leveraging their engineering expertise to create a comprehensive framework for Gaza's rebuilding process.
The upcoming Emergency Arab Summit in Cairo will play a pivotal role in addressing this plan, aiming to provide a vision for reconstructing Gaza while ensuring residents can stay within the enclave. The United Nations estimates that over $53 billion will be needed to rebuild Gaza and the occupied West Bank over ten years, with $20 billion required in the initial three years.
This plan by Egypt counters earlier proposals like those of former US President Donald Trump, which suggested relocating Palestinians outside Gaza, emphasizing instead a commitment to rebuilding within Gaza while addressing humanitarian needs.
