Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced that the country is able to produce up to 60 percent of vaccines by 2024. He mentioned that Egypt's experiences gained over the years will be made available to the entire African continent.
The health minister revealed during the Vaccines and Medical Preparations Forum that the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the fragility of the African continent in vaccine manufacturing. He also discussed a vaccine accelerator worth $1.2 million, which can benefit from the experiences of African countries. Egypt is committed to this important journey and will participate in experiences and supporting partnerships in the African continent, stressed the minister.
