BurJuman shopping mall in Dubai has unveiled a groundbreaking "Smart Parking System" utilizing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. This innovation aims to simplify parking operations and provide visitors with a seamless ticketless experience.

Dubai's Shift Toward Paperless Parking Solutions

Aligning with other major malls like Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre, BurJuman adopts this system following its initial success in Dubai Metro stations. This transition not only alleviates traffic congestion but also supports environmental sustainability by reducing paper waste.

Functionality of the Smart Parking System

With ANPR technology, vehicle number plates are detected at entry and exit points, allowing automatic barrier operations without physical tickets. This results in a smoother traffic flow as visitors no longer need to interact with cashier counters or manually insert parking tickets upon departure. Payment machines will be available for processing dues before exiting the premises.

Early Feedback and System Rollout

Initial tests over the weekend have already been conducted, garnering positive reactions from mall-goers like Dubai resident Ranaz JF, who noted the seamless barrier operation without needing a parking ticket upon exit. Although the official implementation date remains unannounced, BurJuman's new system is part of an ongoing trend where more Dubai malls are adopting smart parking solutions to boost customer convenience and operational efficiency.

BurJuman's Dedication to Innovation

Since its opening in 1991 by the Saif Al Ghurari Real Estate Group, BurJuman has been a pioneer in Dubai’s urban development. Located near a well-frequented Dubai Metro station sharing its name, the mall is committed to providing advanced facilities and services.
