

The Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) recently held a press gathering to review its orientations for 2025. The meeting aimed to consolidate transparency and enhance communication with the community. ASMED's Chairperson, Halima Rashid Al Zar'ai, stressed the importance of supporting SMEs and startups, emphasizing that the Authority seeks to upgrade the contribution of all in driving sustainable development through cooperation with various parties.
The initiative provides financing options, including alternative financing, to SME owners and encourages project innovation. ASMED initiatives also include allocating 10% of government tenders to SMEs and exempting them from temporary insurance fees. The Authority's efforts have led to improvements in the Entrepreneurship Index and attracted talent to Oman.
