The UAE Tour 2025 is scheduled from February 17 to 23, featuring seven stages with a total distance of 1,013 kilometers. This event holds the distinction of being the sole UCI World Tour race in the Middle East, highlighting the UAE's diverse landscapes and infrastructure.
Stages Overview:
- Stage 1: Starting on broad roads to Liwa, cyclists will tackle two laps around Moreeb Dune (18.1 km each) with steep climbs before finishing at Liwa.
- Stage 2: A flat individual time trial of 12.2 kilometers on Al Hudayriyat Island, designed for high-speed racing due to minimal turns.
- Stage 3: A mountain stage leading to Jebel Jais (179 km), featuring a challenging 20 km climb with gradients up to 9% after crossing Al Marjan Island.
- Stage 4: The longest stage at 181 kilometers from Fujairah to Umm Al Quwain, characterized by desert conditions, wind, and sandstorms across multiple Emirates.
- Stage 5: A 160 km circuit in Dubai starting at the Museum of the Future, passing through landmarks like Al Qudra Cycletrack and Meydan Racecourse, ending with a sprint finish.
- Stage 6: An urban stage covering 167 kilometers through Abu Dhabi, featuring routes through Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, and Qasr Al Hosn, culminating in a sprint at Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
- Stage 7: A decisive mountain stage of 176 km with Jebel Hafeet, including a critical 10 km climb with gradients up to 11% that determines the race winner.
Traffic and Road Closures: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will implement temporary road closures during several stages, particularly Stage 5 in Dubai. Key roads such as Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Qudra Cycletrack will be closed at intervals from 8 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., affecting travel plans. The RTA advises motorists to plan early and use alternative routes to avoid delays, ensuring smooth traffic flow during the event.
This proactive planning underscores Dubai's ability to efficiently host major international sporting events.
